QUICK START

Useful when an app asks you to encode a search phrase or a single value for a link. Spaces become %20, for example.

  1. Paste the value you need to encode.
  2. Select Convert.
  3. Copy the result into the part of the link your instructions specify.

This is for one part of a URL, not usually a whole address. Encoding does not make sensitive information safe to put in a link.

How it works

Encode one URL component

Component encoding converts text to UTF-8 percent escapes where needed. Spaces become %20. This is intended for a component value, not for blindly encoding an entire address that must preserve its separators.

The tool does not fetch the address or turn the input into a clickable destination. A public query string may be logged by a website; never treat encoding as a way to protect a secret in a URL.

What happens to your input?

This tool does its work on this page. The site does not submit your entries or results or keep a history. However, any script allowed to run on the page could read its fields. Clearing the tool or leaving the page cannot erase clipboard entries, downloads, printouts, or screenshots. It also cannot protect you if your browser or device is compromised.
